De
tentoonstelling is onderdeel van het Vlaanderen-Nederland jaar dat in 2015
gevierd word ter ere van het 20 jarige bestaan van het Cultureel Verdrag dat op
17 januari 1995 getekend werd. NO WALLS EXPO heeft als achterliggende gedachte
dat er tussen Vlaanderen en Nederland geen culturele barrières bestaan en dat
een sterke samenwerking tussen Nederland en Vlaanderen een interessante
kruisbestuiving oplevert. In deze tentoonstelling wordt op een oppervlakte van
10.000 m² uitsluitend werk getoond waarvoor geen wanden nodig zijn: “NO WALLS” .
Het werk van jong, aankomend talent wordt naast dat van gerenommeerde
kunstenaars geplaatst. Op die manier ontstaat er een sprankelende wisselwerking
door de dialoog tussen de werken.
The exhibition is part of the
Flanders - Netherlands year 2015 who is celebrated in honor of the 20th
anniversary of the Cultural Agreement signed on January 17, 1995 . The NO WALLS
EXPO is based on the idea that there are no cultural barriers between Flanders
and the Netherlands and that strong cooperation between the Netherlands and
Flanders gives an interesting interaction. This exhibition will show on an area
of 10,000 sqm exclusively work for which no walls are needed: "NO WALLS ". The
work of young talent is placed next to that of renowned artists. A dynamic
interaction is created that way through dialogue between the
works.

Voor zijn solotentoonstelling
toont Renato Nicolodi een aantal nieuwe werken in hout en beton. Centraal staat
‘Kazemat’, een reeks van zes imposante betonsculpturen waarin de herinnering en
de leegte gesublimeerd zijn. Naast diverse andere werken, zoals een monumentaal
schrijn in massief eik ‘Iconostatsis II’ en een paneelschilderij, ontwierp
Renato voor deze tentoonstelling eveneens de kleinere betonsculptuur ‘Tumulus
I’.
For
his solo exhibition Renato Nicolodi shows a number of new works in wood and
concrete. "Kazemat "shows a series of six imposing concrete sculptures where the
memory and the void are sublimated. Besides various other works, such as a
monumental shrine in solid oak "Iconostatsis II“ and a painting, Renato designed
for this exhibition also a smaller concrete sculpture 'Tumulus I'.

kunstenaarslezingen in het M Hka.

Weekend, the Antwerp art galleries, museums and project spaces all join forces.
Several activities will be organised including on Saturday and Sunday afternoon
artists' lectures at the M HKA.
