Peter Beyls (B) Coming full Circle + bookrelease
Beyls is een kunstenaar/wetenschapper die werkt op het snijvlak van computer, wetenschap en kunst. Hij ontwikkelt generatieve systemen in muziek, visuele kunst en hybride uitingsvormen. In deze overzichtstentoonstelling komen alle aspecten van zijn kunstenaarschap naar voren. Beyls bezit de kracht zijn publiek op verschillende niveaus en via diverse ingangen deelgenoot te maken van een zelfreflectie op de mens-machine wereld waarin we leven en deze aan een scherp onderzoek te onderwerpen.
Peter Beyls is an artist/scientist working on the intersection of computer science and the arts. He develops generative systems in music, the visual arts and hybrid formats. In this retrospective, all aspects of his being an artist emerge. Beyls has the power to share a self-reflection on the human-machine world in which we live with his audience at various levels and through various inputs to submit them to a keen research.
Jack Ox (US) Ursonate First Movement
Ox is een intermedia kunstenaar en een erkend pionier op het gebied van visualisatie van muziek. Het primaire doel van het werk van Ox is het creëren van een nauwe overeenkomst tussen visuele en muzikale talen. Ze visualiseerde de Ursonate van Kurt Schwitters in vier delen. In de Verbeke Foundation kun je de eerste beweging van dit monumentale onderzoeksproject zien.
Ox is an intermedia artist and an acknowledged pioneer of music visualistation. The primary goal of Ox's work is to create an intimate correspondence between visual and musical languages. She visualised the Ursonate of Kurt Schwitters in Four Movements. The Verbeke Foundation has the honor to show the First Movement of this monumental research project.

Stan Wannet is net zoals Peter Beyls kunstenaar en ingenieur. Mens en machine en zijn achtergrond van oplossend- onderzoekend en vertellend-filosofisch denken komen in zijn werk samen. Wie de Inflatablebezoekt stapt in een wereld waar fantasie en realiteit elkaar ontmoeten op een expressieve wijze die je als kijker niet onberoerd kan laten. Je kunt niet anders dan eerst emotioneel en pas daarna analytisch naar dit werk kijken. De vraag naar het waarom van alles wat we zijn en wat we doen dringt zich in verschillende betekenislagen onherroepelijk aan de kijker op.
Stan Wannet is, like Peter Beyls, an artist and an engineer. His background of solving-investigating and storytelling-philosophical thinking, man and machine, meets in his work. Those who visit the Inflatable will step into a world where fantasy and reality meet in an expressive way that touches you as a viewer. At first there is no other possibility than react emotionally and only then in an analytical way. The question of the why of everything we are and do is irrevocably and reveals itself in several layers.

Dit kunstwerk gaat over mooie tegenstellingen. Tegenstellingen tussen lucht en aarde, natuur en industrie. Tussen mooi weer en regenachtige dagen, afval en hergebruik. Maar meer nog gaat het werk over versterking. Het zwart vangt de blik vanwege het wit en het wit vanwege het zwart. Ze hebben elkaar nodig om volledig gewaardeerd en bewonderd te kunnen worden. Daarom is Black Meets White een ontmoeting van tegenstellingen. Ze zijn tegengesteld aan elkaar maar hebben elkaar ook nodig om sterk te staan.
Op zondag 10 maart 2019 blies een zware storm Black Meets White omver. Studenten van de Willem de Kooning Academie in Rotterdam hebben een crowdfunding opgezet om dit kunstwerk te herbouwen. Vanaf 28 april kunt u via www.reuniteblackandwhite.com een financiële bijdrage leveren en uw persoonlijke positieve tegenstellingen delen voor de herbouw.
This artwork is about beautiful contradictions. Contradictions between the sky and the earth, nature and industry. Between good weather and rainy days, waste and recycling. But even more, the work is about strengthening. The black catches our eye because of the white and the white because of the black. They need each other to be fully appreciated and admired. This is why Black Meets White is a positive meeting of opposites. They contradict each other but also need each other to be strong.
On Sunday the 10th of March 2019, a storm blew away the tower Black Meets White. Students of Willem De Kooning Academy in Rotterdam helped us to start a crowdfunding to rebuild this artwork. Starting on the 28th of April you can help us by contributing your own personal positive contradiction and rebuild Black Meets White. www.reuniteblackandwhite.com
